Hi, I go to a vocational technical high school and at the moment I am valedictorian. My vocational area is Information Technology and I am already A+ certified. Its my junior year and I am starting to look into colleges. I am pretty much decided on an engineering major most likely Biomedical. (if you have any knowledge about those please help too) I cant decided where to go to college or even if an Ivy league college like MIT or CAL Tech would take me because of the vocation high school. Please Help!!!

Your question is very general. It’s always difficult I think to provide advise without knowing a great deal about you, and also knowing what you know.

I suggest that you start off by doing some homework.

There are several excellent books about the college selection and the college application process. One recent one which I recommend is by Jon Reider. The title is Admission Matters: What Students and Parents Need to Know About Getting Into College.

Also talk to your guidance counselor to get started. Pick one or two colleges that are likely to have courses in your general field of interest (certainly the main campus of your State University) and see what courses they offer, what their admission policy is like, etc. That’ll get you started.
