A) Dell XPS 13: avg ultrabook specs, good design, passable keyboard, notsogood trackpad, no SD card slot but idc, no ethernet without dongle. (~1k atm)

B) Lenovo U300S: avg ultrabook specs, good design but much easier to scratch, best keyboard and trackpad on ultrabooks, no SD card slot(~1.1k atm)

C) Screw ultrabooks b.c. you can get a 4-5 pd. laptop with an i7 processor w/ a lower price. (No SSD though)

If money is no issues, then go with the Lenovo.

If you want something small and portable, consider the lenovo x220. It has a matte IPS screen (glossy screens are extremely annoying and IPS screens have better viewing angles and usually better color reproduction). Personally I would go with the 3rd option and just buy a SSD because I am concerned about performance but if you mainly browse the web and type papers you don’t need this.
