Hello, we are visiting Washington DC this summer for a few days and we were suppose to attend a convention in Baltimore which was cancelled, so now we have extra time on our hands. My son wants to attend a college with LaCross (D1 I believe) we are going to look at John Hopkins. What other colleges should we look at and what other cities should we visit. We are flying in and out of Baltimore.

If he is D1 lacrosse material, you could look at UVa in Charlottesville and Duke in Durham.

U. Maryland College Park, Loyola, Towson, the Naval Academy and UMBC all have D1 lax programs and are in the Baltimore/DC area. Not sure what else you are seeking in a school, but UMD and the Naval Academy are the best academically of the group. UMBC is a very up and coming program.

If you are willing to drive, PA isn’t too far. D1 schools include Bucknell, Lehigh, Lafayette, and Villanova.

agree w/ @amarylandmom
All are decent schools with differing academic strengths.
Depending what type of school you are looking for I would rank academic quality as follows - JHU, UMD, UMBC, Towson, Loyola. I would set aside USNA - unless he is interested in military service.
