<p>PHONE LINE* Sorry. I have an urgent question about the formatting of my essay, and when I try to contact the UC Application help line, it says “my call can not be completed as dialed.” I’m from Oregon, and I am calling the out-of-state number. I have no idea what is going on.</p>
<p>What’s your essay formatting question? I have no clue why the phone wouldn’t be working, but maybe we can help with the essay question…</p>
<p>When I copy-paste my essay into the allotted space, it removes all formatting. My tabs are gone, my title is not centered, etc. When I try to press “tab” while the cursor is in the box where I just copy-pasted my essay, it doesn’t do anything. I’ve tried this in THREE different browsers.</p>
<p>Ah, okay. Well I believe that that is because it is impossible to have such formatting. Instead of tabs for paragraphs, simply add extra lines. It’s also okay if your title is not centered. </p>

<p>Too bad there aren’t better formatting options, but the admissions officer won’t care (actually, I think the extra spaces make it easier to read… JMO). Good luck!</p>

<p>I think it’s okay! I know that I (and probably three dozen friends at my high school. Everyone here goes to UCs!) did the extra spacing. Best of luck with whatever you decide! :)</p>

<p>LOL at least it didnt crash this year. Last year…omg it crashed on the 30’th and that was the “urgent problem” DONT WAIT TILL THE LAST MINUTE. Learned your lesson?</p>
