HELP. Please?

Hello! I just finished my freshman year at Vandy and am contemplating transferring for a multitude of reasons. I am currently enrolled as a Computer Science major, but due to poor personal physical and mental health, tragedies, and an intense courseload, my GPA suffered (as in <1.0).

In high school, I had a 97 GPA unweighted and a 1980, 2370 as my SAT scores.

I was wondering if transferring ANYWHERE would be an option due to my high school transcript.

Advice would be wonderful. Also, is ANYONE still accepting applications?

I know the school I’m currently going to (Hofstra University) is accepting applications. It’s a private university on Long Island in New York. As much as I hate it here and would not recommend it to anyone, they will probably accept you because of your stellar high school grades. You’ll just have to explain what happened your freshman year probably.

Community college is always a great way to go, though. It’s inexpensive and allows you to get your GPA back on track.

I don’t think you’ll be able to find any selective college that will take you with such a low GPA. I would go to community college for a while, build your GPA back up, and reapply after a year or so.

Best of luck!
