<p>I’m applying to Yale, and I would love some critiques on my answer for the question:
What in particular about Yale has influenced your decision to apply?</p>

<p>My answer:
Yale is where all my dreams will begin. The prestigious academics will allow me to get into any medical school I desire; consequently, I can pursue my goal to become a pediatric surgeon in order to travel around the world helping impoverished children.</p>

<p>I know it sounds cliche, but this is what I actually want to do in life.</p>

<p>You don’t need to travel around the world to know that people are poor. Nor do you need an ivy league degree to help children.</p>

<p>Oh and don’t post your personal stuff on CC.</p>

<p>Agree with M&L. The prompt is asking what is it specifically about “Yale”, not “insert name here” as your response would imply. It does sound cliche and you can get into a top medical schools from state schools. Why Yale? is the question. Do your homework and then answer it instead of some generic reply.</p>
