What do you mean by take a beat?
If Engineering is your priority rank those first⦠With a caveat:
Fit seems to have mattered enough you chose not to apply to some QB partners that wanted you enough to fly you in, so it seems fit should come into the ranking.
And Physics seems to appeal enough that you chose to rank colleges that donāt have Engineering. (Thereās no shame in that, no expectation thatās what you should prioritize: 1/3-2/3 students drop Engineering so itās not for everyone. If itās for you itās great, but if it isnāt⦠It very much is as far from great as you can imagine. Only YOU would know if Engineering is a deal breaker or not.)
Can you be happy with a topnotch Physics program thatās a good fit (guessing some of the colleges on your list would be there for that reason)?
Btw, I wouldnāt consider the 3+2 programs. I would however consider the 2+1+1+1 program with Dartmouth because 1) you spend junior year in study away/abroad like everyone, except your study away is ādiscover Engineeringā instead of ādiscover a new cultureā 2) you graduate with your friends 3) your year *away" should solidify whether Engineering is for you or not 4) thereās FA for the last +1.
If you get a QB acceptance itās binding (but who in their right mind would turn down a full ride+ at a top college that comes with amazing support&opportunitiesš?)
