So I have applied to 5 colleges (Emory, Northeastern, Fordham, Marist, and SUNY Geneseo) and am definitely applying to a few more (Cornell, Brown, Upenn, Vanderbilt, Lafayette) I am still unsure of which to choose of the following:
-Bucknell
-University of Southern California
-Vassar
-UNC at Chapel Hill
-Franklin & Marshall
Based on what I have applied to already and my stats (97 UW 99W 32 ACT) what do you think would be a smart decision in planning what colleges to take off my list? If you go to any of these schools, what do you like about them? Also, if you have any reccomendations of one more safety school that gives tons of financial/merit aid please share!
You seem to have a diverse list with only one state school so far. If affordability is not an issue, you are fine. If you want or need a lot of merit you may want a few more safeties. Your intended major also could influence your decision. There are several state schools that will offer you large merit and probably honors too. Alabama and Temple are two that come to mind. Two privates would be Scranton and St. Joe’s.There are many great private and public colleges that could offer you substantial merit aid.
Good luck.
You will want to make sure that your USC application is submitted by December 1 to be considered for merit aid.
I am assuming that you are in state for SUNY, so I am wondering why UNC is on your list. Have you already run the Net Price Calculators for your whole list?
