This is my first post so please bear with me.

I live in the Southwest so both schools would be far for me. Distance is not the issue.
Right now I’m planning to do history or environmental science as my major.
Either way, I want to minor in Spanish. I will go on to graduate school.
I have no idea in what, but I must. I’ve been admitted to both.

Smith College is very pricey and the financial aid only went so far.
My family would have to pay 13k a year out of pocket.
I don’t know anyone up in Massachusetts. I’m thinking Smith coupled with great grades would look great on a grad school application.

On the other hand, University of Puerto Rico Rio Piedras didn’t offer any aid but the cost is no problem whatsoever. My whole family is back in Puerto Rico. UPR has a law school and grad school. They also accepted me into a bilingual program for students like me. (Who speak Spanish but have gone to english speaking high schools and the like.)

Both schools (from my point of view), are great schools academically.
This is for opinions. What other factors should I be looking at? What is your opinion of these schools?

Any help will be appreciated.

PS: Extra question, does anyone know if either school defers enrollment?

THANK YOU.
