Help Thinking of Match Schools?

Hi, I’m Noa. I have reach schools (JHU, WUSTL, and Yale), and safeties (McGill, CUNY Honors, maybe SUNY Bing), but I’m having trouble coming up with match schools.

It would be awesome if you could give me some ideas!

Here are my stats:

School: Special public school. We have two years of high school and then two years of college courses (we get a two year A.A. degree from Bard College, because my high school is affiliated with it). Because of this special program, no A.P. courses are offered.

GPA: 4.0/4.0 (we don’t have weighted/unweighted)

SAT1: 2350
Math: 750
Critical Reading: 800
Writing 800

SAT2s: 770 in Bio, taking Math II and Chem in October

Awards:

  • 4 silver regional awards and 1 gold national award in the Scholastic Writing Contest
  • Almost positive I’ll be a National Merit Finalist (237 PSAT)

Extracurriculars (I think this is my weak point):

  • 4 years: Jazz dance
  • 2 years: Swing dance
  • 1 year: Volunteer at City Harvest, an organization that provides food for NYC’s hungry
  • 9th grade, Staff Writer on school newspaper. 10th grade, Graphics Editor. 11th-12th Editor-in Chief of school newspaper.
  • 10th, half of 11th: Creative Writing Club
  • 11th Grade: Math club…not enough students so it petered out :frowning:
  • 11th grade: selected by school for 2-week exchange program in China with four other students! (AMAZING experience!)

Summers:

  1. After 9th grade, I went to Camp Rising Sun, an international scholarship leadership program. I was one of 60 girls chosen worldwide.

2) After 10th grade, I took an architecture class at the Museum of Modern Art in New York (you had to apply, and it was free)

3) This summer I have two internships. The first one is at the YM/YWHA (I’m not sure if people know what that is, if you dont, ask). I’m interning in camp administration, and its 5 hours a day.
The second internship is at a developing company called RevenueSpark. Its a sales outsourcing company for sustainable technology businesses. My jobs are correspondence coordination, help with web development (the text of the website), and some research and powerpoints.

Teacher recommendations will be very very positive, and I am working hard on my essays this summer so I think they will turn out well.

Now, the important part: What I want in a school.

  • I want a CITY school, or very close to a city. Size doesn’t matter much.
I’m interested in studying a lot of things, especially Mathematics. I’d like a school that is strong in math and engineering.
  • Its also pretty important to me that the school offers Chinese.
  • Also, this isnt necessary, but I would love if the school has graduate schools of Business or Education where I could take classes (especially Education)!

Thank you so so much for taking the time to read this. I’m not asking for chances, I just would love some ideas for Match/Good Fit schools.

Thanks again,
