OP, I honestly wouldn’t worry about it. Like another person said… it might actually make your application stand out (in a good way).</p>

I cannot advise one way or the other as to whether he should call to explain the error. What does he do if the person he has to talk to is a female admissions person. This could become a movie.</p>

<p>I really think you should just leave it but if it’s really, really bothering you, then you can contact the school office of admission people or your admissions rep. Ask if you can replace an essay with another one because you messed up or something (look for the threads where people accidentally forgot to replace the school name in their Why ___ Essays). Then, hopefully you can replace it? </p>

<p>Well the yale clam fart thing that people were talking about is a bit worse and they got away with it. The guy wrote this in his “supplemental meterials” section along with 2 very legitimate research projects:</p>

<p>Like others have suggested, OP, you could always e-mail them. You don’t have to tell them what the typo is, but ask them if you could submit an essay without the typo. I’m sure they’ll be understanding about it, as most are.</p>
