Help! Uchicago merit aid

So I was accepted Early Action to UChicago. Unfortunately they determined that I qualify for zero need based aid. There is no way my family can afford the 60k a year UChicago is asking for. But I saw no mention of merit scholarship in my fin aid letter. Does this mean that I did not receive one?

Merit scholarships are awarded until April, so you still have a chance.

If your financial aid wasn't sufficient, keep in mind that you can still appeal your decision.

I'm in the same boat as you! :( My parents and I spoke with my local rep and he said he would see about getting me some merit aid. He actually did manage (I'm assuming it was because of him, anyway) to get me a University Scholarship, but the scholarships are only $5,000 a year, so they don't make much of a dent in a $60,000 school. See what your local admissions rep has to say, and talk to the finaid department too.

I am in same situation, but I got 10k a year. Still like a drop in the bucket, compared to the tuition, so unless you are very close to affording it, a merit scholarship is not going to make the difference.
