HELP!!!! unusual stats, chances?

<p>Hi, im a student at a JC(deanza) an am applying to transfer to the following schools as a math major: WUSTL, Rice, Berkeley, UCLA. I need to know my chances and how to improve them. I have until end winter(2008) quarter to improve for(WUSTL, Rice)
and end of fall quarter(2007) to improve for (Berkeley,UCLA). my hs stats are HORRIBLE! as i was in special ed, RSP and SDC are just euphemisms for special ed. Also I didnt take the SATs yet. any input would be greatly appreciated. btw UCs don’t care about hs, only private schools do. </p>

<p>lol…ur stats are better than mine…i dont know why u said they are “horrible” the only difference is that i didnt have 2 Ws</p>

<p>Obviously for UCLA and CAL your high school grades will not even be considered when viewing your application. So, for the UC schools you have a great shot, the degree to how great of a shot you have varies on which major you are studying towards.</p>

<p>Other schools (non-UC’s) do care about High School grades, but not to the degree of severity that would put an applicant with crappy HS grades out of the running. I believe that you make it up, by proving you can do 2 years of college work with a great GPA, your GPA is good.</p>

<p>I got a 2.8ish in High School, and now at Cali Comm College I am earning a 4.0, at the moment, so I’m basically in the same situation as you.</p>

<p>This is sort of interesting to think about. Imagine a a kid from Harvard in your mind, a smart kid, right? Now imagine that the computers screwed up and instead of him achieving a 4.0 and going to Harvard, it changed his stats to a 2.0 and gets rejected from Harvard. Nobody believes him, he is ****ed, and his only option is to go to California Community College. </p>

<p>Do you think HE could get himself transfered into a 1st rate school from California Community College?..If so, why not you?</p>
