Help! What does WashU have with Communications?

Hi,

Until recently, I did not WashU had a Communications program. It is listed here: http://admissions.wustl.edu/admissions/ua.nsf/3rd%20Level%20Pages_Academics_academics_majors.htm?OpenPage&charset=iso-8859-1</a> . However, the description of the program makes it sounds as if there are no specific classes dedicated to the program, other than internships and classes loosely based through other Arts&Sciences major? I searched through the Course Listings and found very little.

Can someone please explain how Communications works at WashU?

Also, if you are in the Arts&Sciences School, can you take courses from Olin School of Business?

Someone please respond!

Marc,

This is a little off-topic but you should really check out Northwestern’s school of communication:

http://www.communication.northwestern.edu/</a></p>

All depts within the school are top-5 in the nation.

Got rejected from NU.

I was going to do Arts&Sciences at NU and take Communications classes and Business classes there as some of my courses.

I just browsed through the Wash U site really quick (you may want to spend more time than I did to verify independently) and it looks like there’s not really a degree program in communication . There are just some related courses (through the “University college” which I think like a adult learning/evening program which doesn’t really grant any degree?) that you can take as electives outside your chosen major. I am sorry that you didn’t make it to NU; good luck on your college application.

Thanks (btw, that’s all I saw too on their website).
