Help! What MacBook should I get? Pro or Air

Hey!
So right now I have a hp pavilion laptop and it sucks, week at least for what I’m using it for. I’m a freshman in college and I’m looking to buy a MacBook and I’m not sure which one to get because price and capabilities matter.
In highschool, I had a MacBook Pro but I had to return it to my school after graduating and that summer I bought the hp pavilion because it was what I could afford but the day I turned it on, the screen cracked! So I’ve had this computer with the screen crack for almost a year and it is driving me nuts!
I have to navigate around the crack and the computer is bulky and doesn’t run very quickly so, I saved up and I’m wanting to buy a MacBook…however, I’m not sure which one to buy the Pro or the Air?

I do a lot of video editing, I shoot, film, edit and upload youtube videos
(I also want it because I’ll finally be able to use iMovie -which i am in love with-and not have to use the windows movie editor or i can even get Final Cut Pro)
I also do the normal college things: research, papers, downloading etc.
So which one should I get? I’m thinking the Pro because I can process a bit faster and edit and process videos while I’m doing school work but the Air is much less inexpensive.

Help

Pro - you kind of do need the processing power for video.

You’ll have power to do what you want to do with either the Pro or the Air. The advantage of the Pro is having the bigger screen, which is helpful for something so visual as editing videos. But, if you are going to be carrying the computer around, do your back a favor and go Air. Especially if video editing is more of a hobby and less of a major in your case.

Pro has a Nvidia graphics card; Air does not.

Also - the grand total difference in weight between the Pro and the Air is about a pound.

The Air has a smaller drive, and videos are very big. If you really want a Mac, get the Pro.
