<p>No, that’s incorrect. Freshmen can choose Kresge as their college. The only difference between Kresge and the rest of the colleges is that Kresge is made up apartments only. The other residential colleges are made up of dorms and apartments (freshman can only sign up for the former). </p>
<p>My BIGGEST advice is not to pick a college solely on its dorms. Yes, you will be living in that dorm for 9 months, but the people you interact with at your college are so much more important than room size. I had a neighbor last year at C10 who nearly left UCSC for community college because she didn’t like her roommate/most people on her floor. However, she met a lot of friends at Cowell during spring quarter and now she’s really happy at UCSC. </p>
