Help! Which school should I go to?

Hi, I’m a sophomore in High School right now. I go to a public school, so it’s not very prestigious and the only AP courses we have are AP Biology, Language and Composition, Environmental Science, Literature, and Calculus. I was admitted as one of the five sophomores able to take AP biology next year, and I should be taking all the other AP classes (excluding Environmental Science). I have a 4.0 GPA. I was Miss Freshman and Miss Sophomore. I’ve been on the cheerleading the team the past two years (competitive, juniro varsity football, and varsity basketball-I was co-captain this year). I’m a captain of FCA, and a member of Beta Club, HOSA, and Key Club. I also participate in several volunteer opportunities for these clubs, which I would specify… but this message it long enough already.

I was asked to attend the Georgia Academy of Mathematics, Engineering, and Science my last two years of high school. Here I can obtain my associate’s degree and my high school degree simultaneously. They are all college courses, and I can get AP credit for 30 hours if I choose to take the AP test. But my high school councelor says that I shouldn’t go. She says that I’m so involved here that it would be dumb to move. The Georgia Academy of Mathematics, Engineering, and Science is only open to juniors and seniors, so I won’t be left behind and class president’s won’t already be picked. They have tons of clubs, and cheerleading. They have all kinds of singing groups. At my current school, all we have is a Chorus class.

Either school would be fine to be. I would prefer to attend the Georgia Academy, but which do you think would look better on my application?

Well if you can get as involved in that school as you are now, but obviously advance in the clubs more as u move up that would be absolutely great. If it’s only juniors and seniors u can definitely do that. If you can keep those good grades and participation at an even better school then I would say it would be better to go…especially since that is where you are leaning. That counselor just doesn’t want to lose u! lol Best of luck in ur decision making and the rest of highschool! You have a bright future ahead of you so great job so far.
