help with a 10 year plan...

okay heres my story:

my parents are really pushing me to go into medicine and blah blah…but i HATE it and i dont want to become a doctor

i would prefer to go into business but they said i need to propose a “10 year plan” for them or something to convince them that it was the better option

im planning on going to umich and then ross for bba and thats all i got so far.
what im looking for is…what im going to do once im out of my undergrad, what jobs i can get(investment banking career?what firms?), where those are, how much money will i make, wat will i do with my life…etc

also points that show that medicine is not the greatest option would help

if anyone has links or something like stat tables that would be great and really appreciated

Here are some ibanking tables. This year the numbers are a little higher than the ones shown here but it more or less gives you a rough estimate. This is all for M&A btw not trading.

http://www.careers-in-finance.com/ibsal.htm

BTW Sorry about that situation. I was in the same position but I do what I want not my parents. Just have to stick to your convictions.

Also another piece of advice: try not to plan your life. Any mishaps and you will get discouraged. Keep an open mind and learn to be flexible. You need these two characteristics to be successful.

DO NOT go into medicine unless you love it and really want to do it. The monetary rewards, for the most part, are no longer there, so dedication is more important than ever. Most of the MDs I know who have been in it for a while can’t wait to get out (managed care, malpractice, etc.)

DON’T GO INTO ANYTHING BECAUSE YOUR PARENTS ARE FORCING YOU TO-a sure prescription for a life of misery and regret. Stand up to your parents and choose your own path.

thanks guys

okay so right after i complete my undergrad at u of m…the usual course taken is becoming an analyst…then going back and doing MBA and then coming out and becoming an associate?
