So basically I have a relatively good SAT score 2290 , which I hope to replace with a 35 or 36 on the ACT on first try next month. The major problem that I fear when it comes to college applications is that I did terrible in freshman year of high school, which impacted class rank to say the least, but I did relatively well soph + junior years (3.86 UW for soph + junior, but roughly 3.72 for Fresh+Soph+Junior). I have a rigorous course load for all years. Will this be extremely detrimental in my college admissions to lets say top tier UCs or maybe even higher. My UC GPA weighted is 4.2, if that helps.

It would help if you could say exactly what your GPA and rank are, but assuming that they aren’t catastrophic, the negative impact won’t really be that bad. If the rest of your application is on-par with your excellent test scores, you’ll be a great applicant to the UCs and higher.

With Freshman year GPA is exactly 3.719 UW
Without Freshman year GPA is 3.856 UW
SAT 2290 (740 M 750 CR 800 W)
Class rank is approximately 50-60 / 465.

Any further advice

Anyone have any comments?

Being outside of top 10% with GPA below 3.9 will make it tough for you if applying to Ivies.

Any further advice ?
