We are looking to vacation at one of the beaches in Alabama for spring break. Would love to have suggestions from folks in the area or with experience of the area for great places to stay that would have some things to do in addition to the beach. This would be a trip for parents and a group of high school seniors, so not looking for secluded, quiet areas, but rather an area where all would have some night-life opportunities (restaurants, etc.) in addition to the water fun. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Having known a lot of people who visit the gulf beaches on a regular basis, it often comes down to a matter of personal preference. Orange Beach is mentioned a lot, as is Gulf Shores and Dauphin Island.

Is there a reason you are looking at Alabama beaches instead of those in Florida? Many of the people I know who are not from Alabama prefer the Florida side, particularly Destin or Navarre Beach. Destin is known for being especially popular with college students, including those who are under 21 or who don’t drink.

If you’re nearby, a lot of people recommend visiting the Flora-Bama.

Thanks SEA-tide. We were just looking for something different. I appreciate the suggestions.
