Help with an ear worm!

A funny one I heard once: Surfin’ USA by the Beach Boys. “Her raunchy sandals too” (real lyric is huarache sandals too).

@NJSue Yacht Rock radio has been on heavy rotation here all summer! (Channel 18 on Sirius/XM radio). I hope they keep it.

To this day the Jumpin’ Jack Flash song from the Stones makes no sense to me, even knowing the lyrics.

I love this thread.

It wasn’t until I saw the movie 20 Feet From Stardom that I realized the high-pitched woman’s voice in Gimme Shelter (Rolling Stones) is singing “rape, murder, it’s just a shot away.” Listen to this isolated vocal (Merry Clayton, with Mick Jagger exclaiming in the background) - it makes the hair on my arms stand up every single time. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=njAuEGRthuw

MotherofDragons - ah, song trivia, and British Invasion song trivia at that, which is my favorite. There are two competing interpretations - one is that Keith Richard’s gardener was named Jack, and the other is in reference to drugs (I think heroin).

For bonus points, in what early 70s song does another songwriter obliquely refer to the RS by referencing “Jack Flash sat on a candlestick”?

@cameo43 I too thought that song had “starbucks lovers” in the lyrics

My friend thought the Squeeze song “Pulling Mussels from a Shell” was “Pretty Muscles for Michelle”

I always have a problem with Stevie Nicks’ “Edge of Seventeen” lyrics-
“Just like the white winged dove
Sings a song
Sounds like she’s singin’
Whoo-whoo-whoo”

Always sounds like “Just like the one winged dove…” and of course it should be saying oooo oooo oooo because having one wing would really hurt.

Wrapped up like a ■■■■■■!

The Manfred Mann’s Earth Band version.

I always heard “there’s a bathroom on the right” as well.

ETA: Hahaha! CC bleeped it out:

Am I the only one who thought this thread was going to be about some gross disease?
