Help with assessing my SAT score

<p>Well those are the scores I got. I’m a little down especially because I thought I would do better and the Writing score is horendous.</p>

<p>I’m trying to get into some top public schools. Will this hurt it?
I got a 28 on the ACT. Should I just send that instead rather than the sat?</p>

<p>Writing is the least important of the 3 categories (in fact, some schools don’t even consider it. Take the SAT one more time, make sure you write a really good essay… and expand your list. I bet you get into a really good school.</p>

<p>If you are in the top 10% instate, you are automatically in at UT Austin.</p>

<p>Well according to an SAT/ACT Conversion chart, a 28 on the ACT is equivalent to a 1860 on the SAT, which is a bit higher than the 1730 that you got.</p>
