Help! With BU admissions! Please??

Okay, so, I currently go to Emmanuel College in Boston. And my mother wants me to transfer to BU becuase she thinks that I’m not happy or content with my school and that I could do better things.
Now, I just transfered to Emmanuel this year, from a community college. And I’m technically still a freshman. I just don’t know if I have what it takes to get into BU. I really don’t want to be making a huge mistake either.

SAT: 1350 (I know that’s terrible)
H.S. GPA: 2.9
COMMUNITY COLLEGE GPA: 3.3
EMMANUEL GPA: 3.0

I have held three seperate jobs and three different community service jobs since junior year of high school. And at the end of this spring semester I will have 36 credits with Emmanuel and 21 from the Community College. And I think BU will offer students with a maximum of 60 credits.

Can someone tell me if I have what it takes to get in? It would be hugly appriciated. I just want to make sure I know what I’m doing and I really need help.

The first thing to consider, before worrying about your application, is whether you actually want to transfer. You mention that your mother wants to transfer and thinks you’re unhappy at Emmanuel. If that’s true, a transfer might be a good option, but if you’re happy why would you leave?

BU and Emmanuel are very different, as you probably already know. BU has over 30,000 students to Emmanuel’s 2,500, for example. Transferring is a big process and you should make sure you actually want to leave before you go through with it. You may want to consider retaking the SAT, though, for starters.
