Help with Common App

<p>I’m applying to McGill, Concordia, and Rutgers, but none of these colleges take CommonApp. McGill and Concordia do not even require an essay. My guidance counselor is telling me that I should fill out CommonApp, specifically the Signature section, but when I get there, it tells me I need to submit my essays before continuing. Do I need to write an essay to get the digital signature?</p>

<p>yes, you need an essay to fill out the signature.
No, you do not need Common App at all. Tell your guidance counselor that currently you have no colleges using the colleges. IMO, I would fill out at least part of the app + essay in case you decide to apply to a college with the Common App.</p>
