Help with Critical Reading and Essay!

After taking the first few practice tests from the blue book, I’ve noticed that my Math and Writing scores always seem to be acceptably high (missing about one question for score high 700s each time). On Critical Reading, however, I always seem to miss a few more questions, and as a result, my scaled score is quite a bit lower. There’s not really a pattern - the questions missed could be vocab, passage, or a mix. Any advice to help boost my CR score to match my Math/Writing scores? (I’m trying to give myself a consistent score cushion on the practice tests, i.e. getting consistently high scores in all sections, so that when I take the real test I will do well even if I get nervous)

Also, any advice on an effective way to score my practice essays?

Honestly,
For me it comes down to focus and making sure I don’t get lazy on the little things. It is just like Math and Writing in that if you miss a small detail, the whole answer will be off. It just is a matter of focus imo
