Help with Extracurricular activity essay

<p>Background:</p>

<p>nationality: indian
Residence: dubai, United Arab Emirates
Education : Edexcel A- Levels (bio,phy,maths) [International UK based exam board]</p>

<p>I plan on going into mechatronic engineering or mechanical engineering. im quite passionate about physics n engineering. </p>

<p>i spend quite a bit of my time tinkering with electronics, and dismantling stuff and building new stuff. does that count as an extracurricular activity?
if it does, should i write about it for my extracurricular activity essay?</p>

<p>or shld i write about my participation in the BEA Shell project.
(for those who dont know, its some environmental thing involving field work n research n surveys)</p>

<p>i lack extracurriculars :(</p>

<p>Personally, if I had to choose between those two, I would do the latter.</p>

<p>The second activity sounds more interesting, and would enlighten the admission people.
But if you really want to appeal as a mechanical/electrical engineer, I’d go with the first one and mention significant things you did or built or dismantled and put back together again.</p>
