Help with Majors and Schools

I’m a long way out from college (freshman), but can’t help thinking about it. I feel like I want to have colleges I’m interested in, and at this point I have nothing in particular. I do have the standard high hopes, but I don’t know whether I could get in and what major I would choose.

Here is some background:
School: West Torrance HS
Rank: 4/550
GPA: 4.0 uw, 4.5385 w

I am currently enrolled in 3 honors classes and plan on taking two next year. I have a hard time scheduling because I am very involved with the theatre department which conflicts with ALL AP science classes. With the advanced science track I am on I should be moving to either Bio AP or Chem AP next year (soph year), but I am taking Physics. I do not plan on taking ANY major involving science, but is this still a bad move?

Throughout high school I plan on taking the following Ap/Honors Courses:
F: Eng 1 H, Alg 2 H, Chem H
S: Eng 2 H, Pre-Calc H
J: Eng 3 H, Calc A/B AP, US Hist AP, Anatomy H
S: Eng Lit AP, Calc B/C AP, AP Macroeconomics, AP Gov, (Possibly Env Sci AP)
I’ll also take the French AP test, as there are not any French AP or honors classes at our school, just regular. I know I sound crazy, but I’m a go getter.

Activities:
Interact, California Scholarship Federation, ComedySportz, Drama Club, 3 Musicals/Plays per year

Leadership:
Boy Scouts (Life Scout, Eagle next year)

Academic Awards:
9th Grade English Medalist (Top Student in 9th)
Principal’s Honor Roll & Citizenship Award- 2 semesters so far

Should I join more activities to guarantee a place in a good college? And I am looking for something non-science related that can give you big opportunities. I love English, but I couldn’t English major, maybe, but I don’t think I would. Any ideas for colleges? I’m looking for schools in the Northeast with a reputation. I live in California, and would like to get away from the West Coast for college!

THANKS!

First, what can your parents afford? Second, what do you count as a good college? It will be very difficult to get into Ivies without APs if they are available for you. Third, it’s very hard to make recommendations without SATs or ACTs.

I don’t need Ivy’s but I do want something with a good rep and is well-known. My dad went to Georgetown and mom went to USC, but I’m really only considering Georgetown. My grandpa has a lot of money saved up for me, so I will have enough for almost every college with some financial aid/scholarships

you should wait until your junior year to ask this question.
