The convenience and widespread availability of water color paint (account for its popularity) with amateur artists.

A)account for its popularity
C)accounts for its popularity

The answer is A:

I picked C because I thought the main subject was availability, because isn’t convenience and widespread just adjectives describing availability?

convenience is one thing. widespread availability is another. So it has to be in the plural form.

It would have to read convenient availability to be an adjective…in this case convenience is being used as a noun, as is availability- widespread is an adjective for availability only.
