Help With Preparing Dossier?

Hey Guys,

I had gone to private school all of my life and switched to a public high school, I also moved states. In doing so, I went to the number one high school in California unprepared. This led to a disastrous freshman year (2.8 GPA comprehensive), and now Im in trouble. Got myself back on my feet in Sophomore year, and have a 3.8 GPA currently, closing semester 1. I’d like some help or advice on getting into UC Berkeley/Stanford. These are my two dream colleges. I am aware that my GPA is very low, and if I maintain a 3.8 through this year and next, my comprehensive GPA will be 3.567. I have, however, been taking all honors courses, and English is my specialty. I have done some SAT practice tests (in institutions), and seem on track for a 2200+ on SAT. I, however, have almost no extracurriculars. I’d like some help with ideas for ways to boost my application to get into UCB/Stanford. Want to do Medicine after under-grad.

What else can I do, and is this decent to good for Berkeley?

The UCs do not use your freshman grades - just the course work, so keep up your grades through your junior year and you have a decent shot. I think Stanford dow look at them, but most schools will politely look away if there is an impressive and consistant upward trend.

Does your school offer more than 2 APs? if so you might want to beef up your classes.

Also what you do when you are not in class will count.

Thanks, can anyone confirm?

Only 2 AP Classes? Foreign Language only to level 2? Interest in medicine yet no Calculus?
No EC’s?

As of now, Stanford is a real long shot. Continue with your upward trend. Strengthen your rigor with more Core AP classes and seriously consider taking Calculus.
