Don’t forget about travel costs. These can REALLY add up. We just moved our son about 23 hours away. Between airfare, hotels, etc we spent well over $1000 just on move-in. Then there is summer storage, flights back and forth for breaks, etc. We just had to ship him something he forgot and it cost us $90! Many of these small schools are in remote locations so travel costs can be even higher as you have to Uber them for 2 hours or fly to a regional airport which can be big bucks. Even campus shuttles to/from the airport can be pricey. Just something to keep in mind.
