Hello everyone new to the forums so I might posted in wrong section.I’m a Junior at IUS in Indiana I have 87 current hours in. This music program is very difficult Im a audio production major soon to change and ill tell why in a minute. I have a gpa of a 3.1 and im close of graduating or was till next year in the spring. What we have is a gateway to take to make it to the senior level classes or the upper level classes. Basically the gateway is an audition if you could continue or not which is kinda dumb. I had to present mixes to 5 professors for them to Critique and then at the end of the day I get harshly judge. Example of the small email that one of the professors sent.
“regret to inform you that it is the unanimous decision of the Gateway Committee that you do not pass at this time. In our opinion, your mixes did not demonstrate the musical ear required to succeed in the music program or the audio profession after graduation. You did not communicate well as to why equipment, technique or creative decisions were made and you did not adequately answer the questions on the oral portion of your exam.” Now this is very insulting since I pass every class and im about to close to graduating. So whats yalls opinion should I speak to the chancellor?
