Ok, this isn’t a toddler saying "look what I found.’ I find this genuinely disturbing and, frankly, the definition of a hostile environment.
I guess he found college to be a stimulating environment.
Agree. Inappropriate sexual behaviors can be a symptom of bipolar disease, among others.
This can’t be the son’s first issue with the roommate. (Serious comment, but a pun for you @Madison85.)
This thread should have a trigger warning for us survivors of indiscreet freshman roommates. Mine would at least be in his bed. lights off, while doing the Princeton handshake (NOT looking at me, thankfully).
Ugh, having flashbacks.
I’m not sure there is anybody who HASN’T been a “survivor of indiscreet freshman roommates”.
Now…th
Honest? go to Post 15 and go from there.
My kid’s freshman roommate entertained herself and her back-home boyfriend via naked skyping with a sex toy on the futon during my kid’s 7-9pm Tuesday evening class. Unfortunately class got out 30 minutes early one night. We disposed of the futon at the end of the school year (too many stains).
Ewww
I suppose I’d suggest @anomander 's advice in post # 15 and if that doesn’t resolve the issue, then move on to the RA, etc.
I am thinking along the lines of maybe the behavior is an invitation?
Maybe the behavior is an invitation, or maybe the roommate is functionally a chimpanzee . . . .
Anyway, I take back what I wrote before. That’s unusual, and definitely kind of a problem, at least if @anomander 's “dude” discussion doesn’t produce a quick apology and promise not to do it again.
Kind of what I was thinking, HM1. Maybe he was hoping the friend’s son would beat him, join him, or both.
As I found out 30 years ago, trying to ignore it invited repeats … waaaayyyy too many repeats.
If there were an award for “Thread of the Year”…this would be it
Was the box - toileter thread last year?
What I would love it for this to somehow be woven into the “Korean fan death” thread. Now THAT would be epic!
Has this thread petered out?
hahahahahahahaaa!!!
Well, the roommate produced something but it wasn’t a quick apology.
Was he listening to Michael Jackson at the time?
@anomander 's list in Post #15 will help @jmnva06 's friend’s son from going off half-cocked.
