i made a 720 reading and 700 writing on the march SAT. mostly, i have problems with inference questions on reading and the identifying errors in writing. i also have the occasional brain cramp and make a dumb mistake.

does anyone how i can raise these scores to 750 or above? im taking the test in June, btw.

Usually, reading and science are my problem areas. It takes me a long time to read the passages and then by the time I get to the questions, I have to rush through them, and like you said, I often get brain cramps and make dumb mistakes.

I found an unconventional method to prepare you for all distractions, though. Listen to music while you’re taking the reading test, and make sure to time yourself. You’ll find that it takes a great deal of mental stamina to concentrate on the test and not on the music. With both distractions, you’re brain will gradually learn to multi-task and perform at its optimal speed with such a distraction. Then, gradually stop listening to music. You’ll find how much easier the tests become in speed and understanding without the blaring distraction.

During the test day, you’re not going to have music as your distraction, but mostly just nervousness and frenzy. To overcome this and think logically is the hardest thing to achieving a good score on the ACT/SAT.
