NorCal high school that sends very few Ivies each year. Class of 2008 only sent 1 MIT and 1 Cambridge, about 20 to UC Berkeley, and more than half to community college =[.</p>

<p>Financial Aid:
Definite yes. Only can apply to Ivies because of their new full-ride program. </p>

Rank: N/A (Should be in the Top 4% of a class of about 670 though. Don’t know if I’m anywhere higher since school doesn’t rank)</p>

  • Discovery Channel Young Scientist Competition (National Semifinalist)
  • Numerous awards from 2 years of competition in Area’s science fair (Includes Overall Division Sweepstakes winner, placing in participating category, special awards from U.S. Navy, Air Force, Institute of Electronics and Engineers, etc.)
  • Participated in California State Science fair in 2006
  • Local Business Roundtable winner for 3 years, in a multitude categories like creative writing, journalism, science and technology, computer science, and etc.
  • Won 3rd place for History Essay Writing Scholarship
  • Placed 16th in State for the California Math League Competition in 2004; placed in top 5 scores for school and county in 2004 and 2005.</p>

  • Worked at UC Berkeley for a month under a high-school internship nanotech/nanoscience program this summer (Summer 2008). Somewhat selective program, for only 15 high school juniors were let in from around California. </p>
