If my son has been accepted to RU, received his accepted letter, and has paid his deposit…does this mean he can not be revoked for senior grades/year?

I don’t know about RU but generally the admission contract states the admission offer can be rescinded by the U if the student doesn’t maintain decent grades or sometimes if the stated courses are changed - ex: dropping a planned math course. I know the UCs sometimes will rescind if the grades aren’t kept up - i.e. if the student gets below a C-.

It should be easy enough to determine by reading what the U states about it on their website. You could also call their admissions office and ask them their policy in this area.

If my son only needed 3 years of math to graduate high school and he dropped his AP stats class because he cant keep up with 6 AP classes…what would happen?

Some schools require to notify them if you change your “proposed” schedule. I bet dropping 1 of 6 APs will not be a problem at RU, but he may want to call and let them know…

alright thanks…do you know if they revoke admissions after receiving a letter of acceptance and paying the tuition deposit? If he was revoked it would be at the beginning of june which is too late to apply to other schools…? kinda bad situation

^^ That’s why they usually state that you need to contact them ‘right away’ in the event of bad grades or dropped classes. The basic answer is ‘yes’ - they can rescind you at whatever point they learn of the problem.

Just contact admissions and ask them these questions to get a specific answer rather than relying on us who aren’t admissions staff at the U.

well I contacted them already and they said only drastic drop in grades…but idk of one D in a extreme schedule for a senior counts as drastic?

Your, ahem, child might want to work a little harder in that class to bring that D to at least a C-. You can do it! And do call the school.
