Help....

Hi, I am doing an Algebra 2 practice packet before I go into Algebra 2 and I am stumped on a question. Can you please explain to me how to a question like this? Thanks

1)

(x+3) (6)
_____ + _____________
(x+5) ( x^2+3x-10)

what do you want to do exactly ???? Simplify solve ???

the second fraction's denominator can be factored into (x+5)(x-2) then multiply (x-2) to the other fraction's numerator and denominator, then add the numerators. The (sorta) tricky part is remembering that the polynomial can be factored. Everything else is simple 4th grade fraction addition.

(x(x+1))/((x-2)/(x+5))
