I live in Nigeria and there’s currently a nationwide strike meaning nobody’s working or allowed to leave their house. The problem is that i haven’t finished my recommendations which I planned on doing this week till deadlines came and the strike lasts for the whole of this week. Would it be smart to contact my schools and ask for an extension ?

Contact the schools. They’ll understand.

Definitely contact them. There’s nothing you can do about it, so they’ll definitely understand. Don’t panic, it’ll be fine, they’ll recognize that this is out of your control.

I can’t answer you’re question. But it’s so cool that you live in Nigeria. I’m Nigerian, but live in America(hence the username.) My dad was actually on a visit there and left right before the strike started.

I’m sure the schools your applying to will understand. Right now I’m dealing with a teacher that has been sick for a month and just got back and refuses to write more than 1 recommendation. I called the schools I’m applying to today and they all worked out an arrangement.

I’ve contacted the schools thank you !

Americannigerian, i know right. hahaha. Awwwnnnn, lucky him. The strike sucks ! im soo bored at home
