Help!

Who would have thought too many options would be a problem. I am currently a finalist for both the UVA Jefferson’s Scholarship and the University of Texas Forty Acres Scholarship, and would be studying either at the number 2 ranked UVA business school or the extremely selective business honors program at the university of texas. Unfortunately the interview weekend for each of these schools is the same weekend, and I have to choose one or the other. Any recommendations?

Congrats on both! I really wish they would stop making students make these kinds of tough decisions.

D1 had to decide between UMichigan’s Shipman, Emory Scholars and WUSTL Danforth/Rodriguez, all on the same weekend. She went with UMichigan, because it had some academic possibilities she liked and it was a definite halfish (can’t remember exactly) tuition scholarship in addition to other merit aid she had already been awarded, and could possibly be a full ride, while she could have walked away with nothing at the others. In the end she did get the full ride and Emory offered a partial scholarship even though she didn’t attend the interview weekend.

I don’t know anything about the UT scholarship, but the Jefferson is very prestigious and well regarded. Some possible things to consider: Are the ‘odds’ for both similar? What does each offer, both monetarily and other opportunities? Do you prefer one location or school/program over the other?

Good luck, whichever one you choose.

fourforty - have you made a decision on which one you’ll be going to?
