<p>im a freshman at college and im baffled about the large amount of information i need to know in a short period of time. the lectures are pointless, but i still go to them because i dont want to miss out on any facts not given in the book. the professors only cover the basic and obvious topics in the book. reading the book is a pain in the ass because there is just way too much information in there to retain. i dont know if i should memorize the information because the homework my professors give out sometimes dont even cover the topics in the book. and btw, homework and quizzes are online so it makes everything worse. can someone help me? im at a lost here.</p>

<p>I would just memorize the main points. There really is no need to know everything. And if there is something you don’t know you can always look it up on google.</p>
<p>Go to your college counseling center and ask for help with study skills. Your concern about how to study for college is something that many students share, and the counseling center is probably very used to help students learn those skills. What colleges require is different than what many colleges require, and college profs don’t spoonfeed material the way that many h.s. teachers do.</p>
