(I want to go to Princeton, but if you know if any knowledge of any of the ives, please respond)

1.) Does Princeton, or ivies for that matter, look more at your (UW) GPA and course rigor as opposed to (W) GPA and course rigor. If so, would it be best for me to drop my regular web design class (online) because even though I get an A in it, it brings down my (W) GPA because it is only weighted as a 4.

2.) Also, do the ivies just look at one’s cumulative GPA- that is, the average of all unweighted GPAs earned throughout high school- or all the GPAs…?

3.) I took a high school Algebra Honors class in the 8th grade, but I had no clue it would show up on my transcript, and I got a B in it. Do you think Princeton will care? It brings down my overall GPA…

According to my counselor, taking extra unweighted classes and getting an A hurts you for UC admissions. However, for privates, they will take that into account.

like Princeton? I mean, I’m taking this non-honor course online as an extra class because I want a challenge, but it hurts my weighted GPA. However, it helps my unweighted gpa. Which is more important/significant? what would you Princetonians do?

Take the course. GPA is only a number - Someone who took Honors Chem, Calc AB, and Comp Sci A and got all A’s is weaker than someone with 2 A’s and 1 B in Chem AP, Calc BC, and CS AB.
