Is it important to take physics in high school or would i be better off taking ap enviro. Also I took Algebra 1 in 8th grade and got a B, i can either drop it and it wont show up on my transcript or I can keep the B, is it good to have algebra or does it not matter. I am planning on applyin to Wharton just in case it matters.

AP enviro has a rep for being a really easy AP ( I don’t take AP, I do IB, but I’ve heard this from my AP friends). I’d say stick with physics

Thanx, how about my algebra thing…thanx

well, penn doesn’t accept ap environmental studies credits last time i checked…?

take physics.

and algebra on a transcript doesn’t really matter so much for wharton as long as you end up taking some form of calculus…

one of my 2 B’s in HS was in algebra I 8th grade, and I would have tried harder to get an A in the other class I got a B in if I still had a 4.0. So if your 4.0 is still intact, I would drop the B, but otherwise, do as you judge best.

Keeping middle school grades hurt my weighted GPA and may have kept me out of the top 5%. It probably had 0 effect on college admissions, but now I don’t get to go to the top 5% dinner at the end of the year.

how about if i said ap world history or physics???

chicken or meat?

take whatever class you’re more interested in
are you saying ap physics v. ap enviro…or just physics v. ap enviro?

Regular physics is probably going to look better than the AP label of AP Enviro… every college knows it’s a joke AP. I took it for a semester thinking it would be interesting and dropped it because it was really, really lame. I’m all for learning about the environment, but it’s not AP level.

thanx for the responshes…now last question promise…of these classes, in order which LOOK the best…ap enviro, ap bio, ap world, ap human, ap physics, or ap chem…thanx again

Oh That’s easy. AP Underwater Basket-weaving.

^That reminds me, I want to make Penn offer Engineering Techniques in Basket Weaving. Basically, one MechE class with a bunch of basket weaving. It sounds legit, but should be far from it.

seriously what do u think

Venkat, That would undeniably make UPenn my top choice.

pnthrs11, That depends on your interests and desired major. Check the requirements of the schools you want to apply to. Taking AP Bio if you want to major in History would be pretty ■■■■■■■■ and taking AP World if you want to be an Engineering would be equally contradicting.
