how do you know what you want to major in?

originally I just picked the first major with the same letter as my first name. All majors should start out with the same basic courses, then you will find out quickly what you want to do.

^ What he said :)

You probably have some general preferences. For example, you might know that you are interested in sciences or social sciences or humanities or business or engineering or… Just start taking classes in your general area of interest and go from there. Most colleges give you at least a year to declare a major, except for some specialized programs which require admission to that program.

Picking a major tends to get a lot easier once you have a better idea what each major entails. Most college students start college undecided so you are in good company!

Thanks Guys, now that I know i dont have to pick a major so soon, its a relief!
