Help .

I have terrible academic middle school and junior high school academic reports. I was facing health problems and missed a lot of school. I was also suffering from depression and was seeking help. I flunked most of my courses. However, I am really worried that I will not get into any colleges because of my track record. I improved quite significantly at the end of Grade 10 and have continued to do even better. I have good reference letters from my grade 11 and 12 teachers. I switched schools after grade 10. So my grade 11 and 12 teachers are probably not aware of my previous academic reports. I have worked really hard. Do you think I stand a chance? I have B+'s now for all my courses.

Schools only care about 9 - 12 grade, and some not even 9. They are also willing to understand and be impressed by problems that have been overcome. With B+ for current grades, you most likely won’t get into the top 20 schools because of the fierce competition, but there are hundreds of other wonderful schools. Check out Colleges That Change Lives, your state universities, lots of places.

If you start another thread with more emphasis on what you want to do as well as your grades and test scores, people may be able to suggest colleges to look at.
