<p>For my common app essay, I want to write about how I went to Africa last summer and saw my dad for the first time in 12 years. I’m not having any trouble with descriptions of how I felt and the awkwardness and stuff. However, I have no idea how to tie in my impact and make it good enough for tough colleges like Duke and Johns Hopkins to be impressed with it. Any suggestions?</p>
