I went to a csu straight out of high school and failed out of my classes the first year(mostly non transferable classes). I attempted school every semester and ended up at 4 other cc’s where i would enroll and withdraw or just fail the classes. Last year, after being diagnosed with ADHD and starting treatment, I decided to start school at my sixth ccc. I chose a theater class as an elective and found my passion. In one year I have completed 51 units with a 3.35 GPA and declared theater as my major. The problem is my transcripts total 14 Academic Renewals and about 20 withdrawals., and 2 F’s from the csu school. Do I still have a shot of getting into a 4 year? Since I’m a theater major most of the schools I will be applying to require an audition as well, but I’m more worried about my academic history.
What does your advisor have to say? Usually that is the first place to start. They have seen everything, and they know where other students with records like yours have been acepted.
