So, I write and edit blog posts for a website known as the Helyx initiative. My responsibilities include writing monthly blog posts about STEM topics and editing the blog posts of fellow members. It is approximately 4 hours a month or one hour a week. I have been doing this activity my sophomore, junior, and senior year. Becoming a writer is selective because it requires writers to submit a sample of our writing for review. Becoming an editor is also very selective. My question is whether this activity is considered impressive to colleges.
This is not unusual nowadays, but it is definitely something you need to include in your applications. - just like you would if you had spent the past years writing for your HS student newspaper.
