I planted a couple of big pots outside on my deck with herbs. I have been pleased with the results. The problem I am now having is that everything is starting to flower and go to seed. Do I need to pull it all out and start over or do I just cut it all way back?
I am growing-rosemary, parsley, oregano, sage and thyme. I had cilantro in the beginning but it went to seed right away.
I love being able to go outside and snip what I need.

As soon as you see the makings of a flowering bud, pinch it back. That will lengthen the herbs season of use.

Once you let it go to flower, then you start losing use.

Planted Italian Parsely seed and Basil seed two months ago. Not one sign of growth. What’s up with that?

I let my herbs flower- dont usually use seeds though unless they self sow/winter over.

You can cut it back after it flowers- or keep pinching it.

I am on my second round of cilantro - the plants go to seed FAST. I actually bought a package of seeds and intend to plant a new round in a small pot every couple of weeks or so…trouble is, we’ve been having some many heavy rains my small pots are getting flushed out!

Lake, are you saying you planted by seed and no shoots at all? Maybe you are having all the rain flush yours away too!
