Here is an essay: see if it may help you, too

**This is not a real questions taken from the SAT, but I imagine that there are many similar. I am not sure how good it is, but I tried, and if it helps you , too great! Notice the thesis statement contains 3 reason that also become the main points for each paragraph. This makes the writing a lot easier in the end.

Q: Are people are never satisfied with what they have? Do they always want something more or something different? Plan and write an essay in which you develop your point of view on this issue. Support your position with reasoning and examples taken from your reading, studies, experiences or observations.

It is a natural part of human nature to never be completely satisfied with what we may have. At first glance, it may seem that longing for what we don’t have is unhealthy, or even selfish, but it is just this desire that actually encourages us to try something new, achieve what we thought we could not, and even make the world a better place.

The desire to try something new can be clearly seen through the works of many creative people. Vincent van Gogh is one such example. Unsatisfied with the artistic styles of the times, Van Gogh sought to create works of art that appeal to more than one sense. His paintings included both texture and color and were well ahead of the times. Though he suffered throughout his short life, and within his his own life he was never recognized for his talent, it is clear that as an artist his dissatisfaction with the mundane, the usual, the typical, his longing for what was not the status quo has benefited us all.

“An Inconvenient Truth”, a 2006 documentary by former Vice President, Al Gore, is a shining example of why it is desirable not be satisfied with what we have. In this documentary, Al Gore presents for our consideration the effects of global climate change. He challenges the viewers to consider how industrialization and technological advances, though beneficial, can also be deleterious to the delicate balance of human activity verses the planet’s limited resources. His messages makes it clear, that we should not be satisfied with the status quo, we should not surrender but rather, take a hard good look at our future, and the future of our earth’s climate and make adjustments and try to achieve what we may even feel is impossible at times.

When the world is a better place, we of course all benefit. Doctors Without Borders is a shining example of how important it is to not be satisfied with the status quo, and demonstrates altruism at its best. Born out of the desire to change the lives of people who have very little in this world, this organization has helped many by bringing medicine and skill to third world countries. Dr. Hidaka Ino, a well know physician in my country of Japan, was one such doctor. As a volunteer for this organization he spent several months in Rwanda tending to the sick and bringing hope to their lives. By his efforts and example we all benefit in the end and this world a better place.

It may be human nature to never be completely satisfied with what we may have; however it is just this dissatisfaction that has, indeed, given us great works of art, that may possibly lead to the way people act for the benefit of our earth and even made the world a better place though wonderful altruistic acts.

Easily at least a 10 essay. One of the only things I would watch out for is repetitiveness (shining example, altruism). Otherwise, it’s great as is.
