There has been no word that I’ve seen on “the investigation”. I’m wondering if this will all just float away or if there will be an official statement. I suppose nothing is mandatory since the shooter is dead so no prosecution in the works. I haven’t seen an official statement about whose gun was used and how the shooter had access to it. However, the access part happened on the reservation so even if the taking it to school part was illegal the possession part may have been legal when he first came to have the gun at home or from a family member’s home.

Unless somebody talks or the electronic communications can be pieced together to tell a story it may never come out. The lone survivor seems to be forgiving rather than telling thus far and his supposedly estranged girlfriend has tributes tot he shooter on her FB page. One rumor was that it was revenge directed at her in the spirit of the guy who killed his ex-sister in law and family for revenge because the ex had fled for safety. If that is the case it sin’t reflected in her posts. There are happy homecoming ask photos and video from just a couple weeks prior that include one of the young women who was killed as an assistant in the “ask”.

This seems to me like such a case of magnified but fleeting teen angst that was able to blow up horrifically due to firearms access.
