<p>I know a lot of people(myself included) were looking for something in writing about the new Stafford loan limits.</p>

<p>Here is the Dear Colleague letter that lists new loan limits. You will need to scroll down until you get to the Loan Limits section. It’s there in black & white from the feds.</p>

<p>You can borrow up to the loan limit, and you may borrow to REPLACE EFC under the unsubsidized Stafford program (even if your award letter does not say that). Say your COA - EFC - gift aid = less than the unsubsidized loan limit. You can borrow an unsubsidized Stafford to replace the EFC (assuming your gift aid doesn’t cover the full COA).</p>
